Here are updates for two mystery writing projects — one that I’ve been working on for quite some time now and a new one starting in September:
The Murder Scripts Mysteries
I finally finished drafting the first novel in my Murder Scripts series back in the spring. While I’m excited about it, there is still much more work to be done. I’ll be working over the next few months on some major revisions before sending the manuscript off for beta reading and then editing.
In the meantime, I’m spending some time working on the first game to accompany the books.
Murder Mystery Shorts
I run a website for writers called All Indie Writers. And in that community we have a series of writing challenges that members can take at any time. I try to take one challenge each month. Next month I’m going to work on a series of 30 pieces of flash fiction, most of which will be in the mystery genre.
The reason I’m choosing this challenge is because I’d like to get some of my mystery work “out there” while I’m revising the book. I also happen to own a domain name, QuickMystery.com. And I’ve been wanting to build a site there for years. So this feels like the perfect time and a perfect opportunity to do both — bring you very short mystery stories that you can read in just a few minutes and launch a site that’s a bit of a passion project of mine.
I’ll share updates about the new site as it comes closer to launching.
